Embroidery 2.0
In 2019, I began a color study. This exploration was initially inspired by renowned artists working with color and optical effects, including Julio Le Parc, Max Bill, Richard Anuszkiewicz, Pierre Kiandjan, Yaacov Agam, and Bernard Frize. Their innovative approaches to geometry, perception, and vibrant color palettes guided my early experiments and laid the foundation for my creative process.
Later, I came across works from Rob Scholte's Embroidery series (2005). Scholte's work, which reinterprets found embroidered pieces by presenting their reverse sides, challenges conventional ideas of authorship and craftsmanship. This perspective made me realize that by working with cord and stacking them, more depth and perspectives can be created.
These artworks are available for purchase, Custom-made. The piece shown is 33x40cm, different sizes available. Contact OHX design for more details.
