Apartement TU, Amsterdam
At OHX Design, we believe that every space should reflect both functionality and beauty. For this project, we transformed the entrance by creating a thoughtful niche seating area for slipping on and off shoes, while also ensuring coats are hidden away in a discreet yet accessible space. This Niche is painted in a deep, dark blue (RAL5002), this helps maintaining a clean and organized aesthetic space.
The same dark blue color is also applied to the back wall of the bedroom to create a more intimate space and better showcase the painting by Santiago Pani. Below the niche, a full-length headboard has been created with integrated nightstands, which, like the wardrobe, are covered with approximately 2,000 craft blocks of oak wood (8x22x88mm).
By maximizing the potential of the space—not just by adding a closet but by placing a Mirrored Pivot Door just 60cm before the shelves—the area transforms into one where you can walk through, change clothes ore play hide and seek from your wife. This creates a normal closet to a unique space and a new kind of walk-in closet, making the bedroom a even more luxurious space.
