This competition proposal was developed for an invited competition organised by the municipality of Vriezenveen. The brief focused on designing adaptable, future-proof homes that can accommodate changing lifestyles and life stages.
The proposal introduces a flexible housing model consisting of two accessible ground-floor dwellings combined with adaptable upper-level units. Each ground-floor home provides 68 m² of living space and is designed to function as a comfortable, accessible home throughout all stages of life. The additional 45 m² apartments or studios above can be connected to one of the ground-

floor homes when more space is required, creating a larger family home of approximately 113 m². When the need for additional space disappears, the connection can be reversed and the upper unit becomes an independent studio apartment again.
The project consists of 16 ground-floor homes of 68 m² and 8 adaptable apartments of 45 m², creating a resilient housing concept that can respond to changing family structures and different phases of life.
This project was developed as part of my work at SENVD.
